Input Material Reduction
Use less. Keep within specs.

CPNET helps you trim resin, cement, chemicals, and over-application—while holding quality and throughput—so you stop paying for material you don’t

What is CPNET Input Material Reduction?

A closed-loop workflow that ties process setpoints → quality outcomes → material usage & cost. CPNET finds safe minimums for coat weight, thickness, ratios, and dosages, then monitors drift and (optionally) suggests small, constraint-aware recipe adjustments to keep products in spec with less material.

Built for: steel, plastics, construction materials, and other continuous manufacturing where material is the largest cost driver.

How customers use CPNET to reduce input material

Connect & baseline

Plug in historian/MES/quality plus material cost data. CPNET backfills usage baseline (e.g., kg/ton, coat-weight g/m², resin %), giveaway/overfill, and Cpk by site/line/grade.

Define targets & guardrails

In a simple Form, select CTQs/specs (LSL/TAR/USL), economic weights (material $/kg, energy $/kWh), and constraints (equipment limits, emissions/VOC, step sizes).

Find the safe minimums

Driver analysis (correlation + XGBoost/SHAP) shows which settings and ranges keep CTQs healthy with less material (e.g., die gap, zone temps, solvent ratios, cement kiln mix).

Monitor & prevent drift

Prediction alerts fire when process conditions imply rising giveaway or unnecessary dosage. Composite alerts combine spec-ratio + usage to stop waste early.

Optimize recipes (Rx+)

When you’re ready, Rx+ proposes a batch of 3–5 small, safe adjustments that lower material while keeping Cpk ≥ target—respecting hard/soft constraints, step sizes, and changeover cost.

Why teams choose CPNET for material reduction

Cut cost, keep quality

  • Hit the spec with less coat weight/thickness/additive—no gambling.

Stop overfill/giveaway

  • Early-warning alerts and guardrails catch drift before it burns cash

Transparent & trusted

  • Every change shows predicted impact, uncertainty, and the drivers behind it

Industrial guardrails

  • Equipment limits, emissions/VOC constraints, step sizes, and change-direction rules enforced

Works with your stack

  • Historian/MES/LIMS in; Vue/Highcharts dashboards and scheduled reports out
